First Post Back

- 2 minutes read - 283 wordsThe other day my wife mentioned that I had not been blogging for a while. I looked and it turns out the last post was 4 years ago! I am not really sure what happened, but for whatever reason blogging went on the back burner,
Anyway, I am back on it now and have plenty of things to write about. I am still in tech, although things have changed. I have moved on from Claranet and am now at Ubisoft. Also, I am no longer an individual contributor, but have moved into the world of Developer Relations. If you do not know what DevRel is, Kelsey Hightower has the only definition you need:
I don't know.

DevRel is whatever who is paying you wants it to be. https://t.co/rgMaXNYiLq
That is all very nice, but this is a personal blog and has nothing to do with my employer. During my time away, the tech landscape shifted like crazy. New gadgets, updates, and breakthroughs—I’ve got thoughts on all of it. I will still be writing about tech, but other things too. I have bought a new house, have a smart boiler on the way, a garage gym, a home lab to rebuild. Since COVID, we have been running a bible study too, so all that should give me plenty of content:
- Kubernetes
- Home Assistant
- Tree surgery
- DIY
- Fitness
- Bible/Christianity
I will not be story-telling, but I will be dissecting the tech world, making sense of the digital chaos, and throwing in a few lines of code for good measure. So my plan for 2024 is to restart writing about stuff I like. Get ready for a tech-filled reboot!
